Santas Drill Team has reached our goal!

Santas Drill Team is honored to again in 2014 be invited to participate in West Central Honor Flights. We hope some of our Team Members will pay their own way again as Guardians. The Drill Team will perform our special version of the "Salute to the Armed Forces" with the Presentation of Colors and the Pledge of Allegiance for EIGHTY World War II Veterans and 80 Guardians during the May 4th Orientation for WCF Honor Flights Misson # 16. We will also be at the Airport to welcome these heroes back home from Washington on Tuesday night, May 6th. To witness these 90+ year old vets making the trip to see their WWII Memorials is an awesome event any patriotic American should experience. Unfortunately, we will not be collecting donations for Honor Flight, seems the IRS is going to make us pay taxes on the funds we collected and passed on to Honor Flight in 2013. We will urge anyone to support Honor Flights by making a donation direct to Honor Flight in your area, or to West Central Florida on behalf of Santas Drill Team. Thank you for your support, you can continue to support Santas Drill Team through the purchase of Santa Claus Oath items.

Santas Drill Team has reached our goal!

Congratulations on reaching your goal and striving to reward other deserving Veterans. Keep up the good work and thanks too for broadening the scope of the public's appreciation for the man (men) in the red suit.
  15. The Santas Drill Team has reached and passed our goal of raising $2000 to sponsor five Veteran Heroes of World War II on a day long trip to Washington, DC to visit their monument as part of the Honor Flight of West Central Florida program. Five Team members will accompany the veterans as guardians. Our Honor Flight is now scheduled for May 7, 2013. The Team will also honor the Veterans with our salute of the Armed Forces Medley that we performed in Santa Claus, Indiana, last month during an orientation meeting on May 4th. We will also participate in the Welcome Home Ceremony on the night of our return. We would not have been able to reach our goal without the love, support and donations of the Santa community members who attended the Jim Yellig Santa Claus Workshop last month by buying the Santa Claus Oath items, and raffle tickets. A very special "Thank you" is given to Phillip Wenz and the Santa Claus Oath Foundation for always believing in the Team and our mission. We have already began collecting donations for our next Honor Flight and to include members of the Palm Tree Santas to serve as guardians. We strongly urge everyone to explore the possibilities of becoming a guardian or sponsoring a Veteran in your communities by going to the www.HonorFlight.org website. Now more than ever, we need to renew our Faith and Patriotism by honoring our Veterans by becoming involved with programs such as Honor Flight. It is what St. Nicholas and Santa would want us to do!

Santas Drill Team to participate in Honor Flight

Santas Drill Team Honor Flight Fund: I have received and deposited donations from a Foundation we provided Santas for last season, a donation from my Shrine Clown Unit and a donation from one of our Palm Tree Santa Board members, a total of $450! This brings our Honor Flight Fund to $1295.00, we are just about 2/3 of the way to our goal! Santa Bill Lamphier, Betty and I were having dinner Sunday night and we received a $20 donation from a Veteran at the next table for the purchase of the Honor Flight Veterans Tickets! Thanks to all!
  17. Quite an honor, and sounds like fun. Congratulations.
  18. Thank you Santa Bob for posting this update on Santa's Drill Team! We hope that having the PayPal link will make it easier for anyone that is interested in supporting the Drill Team's Honor Flight goal and purchasing the Santa Claus Oath Foundation items such as Oath pins, trading cards and shirts. The Honor Flight donation total has now reached $845! I received a donation of $40 last week! Let's take care of and Honor our Veterans!

Santas Drill Team to participate in Honor Flight

Santas Drill Team's "Honor Flight" account has now reached $805.00, approximately 2/5 of the way to $2,000 to pay for FIVE Veterans to fly to Washington on Armed Forces Day May 18th and visit their WWII monument. We now have SIX members of the Drill Team, with each of us are paying our own way as Honor Flight Guardians! Our webmaster, Santa Jim Williams has set up our website: www.santasdrillteam.com with a PayPal Donation link for anyone who might be interested in helping with this project. Of course, you will now be able to order Santa Claus Oath and Santa Claus Hall of Fame items and use Pay Pal to transmit those funds! Thanks for everyone who supports Santas Drill Team, be sure and come see the Drill Team in action next month in Santa Claus Indiana at the Jim Yellig Santa Claus Workshop! Saturday thru Monday, Mar 23rd, 24th and 25th! check in Friday, check out Tuesday!

  22. Santas Drill Team has reached 1/5th of our goal to sponsor 5 Veteran Heroes of World War II as part of the Honor Flight Program. A huge "Thank You" to following for remembering our Heroes: The Scudder Family, the Alachua Business League, the Moms of Marion and the MomMe group.

Santas Drill Team to participate in Honor Flight

Thanks Santa Dennis for posting this information! We urge all of you who are Veterans to consider getting involved in an Honor Flight Program. (and anyone else with a high degree of patriotism in their blood). This is a National program, you can possibly get involved in your area's Honor Flights, or if you choose, you can help support The Santa Claus Drill Team in their efforts to raise $2,000 to pay for five WWII Veterans for a "day" trip to Washington. (We each are paying our own way $400 each) Please remember, America won WWII because of these Veterans, (imagine if we had lost that war??) We certainly would not have enjoyed the Freedoms we have, but not for these Veterans of World War II. They all deserve an opportunity to see their memorial. Thanks for your consideration of helping Santas Drill Team, time is of the essence as the youngest of these WWII Veterans are now 85, lets all help send them to Washington. You don't have to sponsor the entire $400 for a Veteran, any amount will help!
