  2. Dr Santa Steve

    Anyone out there?

Thanks Santa Bill. I think I'm going to wait until after Christmas to pursue it. They've got to be pretty busy with more important things right now.
  3. Santa Bill Reiller

    Anyone out there?

Takes 5 registered IBRBS to start a new chapter and fill out the paperwork.
  4. Dr Santa Steve

    Anyone out there?

Thank you! I will look into these.
  5. Eileen Strom

    Anyone out there?

There is also a Mid Southern Chapter already...perhaps join that? https://www.ibrbsantas.org/chapters/chapter_midsouthern.html
  6. Eileen Strom

    Anyone out there?

Contact Tom Carmody. Might be a crazy time to do it at the moment, but let him know of your interest anyway. Tcarmody@ibrbsantas.org
  7. Dr Santa Steve

    Anyone out there?

Thank you Eileen. I will do that.
  8. Eileen Strom

    Anyone out there?

Go talk to some of the IBRBS people about what it takes to start a local chapter. They should be able to help you.
  9. Dr Santa Steve

    Anyone out there?

Thanks guys. I'll do a search. Do you know if it is a big undertaking to start a local group? Maybe a dumb question. Depends on many factors, I'm sure, but are there legal matters to consider (or should I consult with an attorney)?
  10. Eileen Strom

    Anyone out there?

That's why I stated that IF they put that info in. Still there are some 3 or so pages of Tennessee members on here.
  11. Michael Rielly

    Anyone out there?

Unfortunately this only works if folks bother to put in their location.

...to see who is on this site from your state, go to the top of the page to the search box. Click on it and when the other tab opens up, click on it and go to the bottom of it and select advanced search. A new page as it were will open. From there you will see under Search Term - Content Search and Member Search. Click on Member Search. When that opens, in the location box, type your state and then hit search. If the Santa or Mrs. C put there state name when signing up, you will see them in the list that comes up.

    Anyone out there?

It appears nothing has been posted to this forum in a while. I live near Nashville, TN. Anyone live near me? It would be nice to get together and fellowship, etc. I haven't found a Nashville Santas group yet. Anyone know of one?
  14. I can't make the first meeting but I imagine I will attempt to come to them occasionally (it's a bit far, but should be worth it!). My best advice is, don't make your meetings just a social event. have an agenda where there will be some content; either a presentation, or a topic for open discussion, or a theme where guys can bring something to share connected to the theme. It's a lot easier to let 'life get in the way' and skip a social get-together, but a professional skills-building event feels a lot more like something you shouldn't miss. Also, do a round of brief introductions, but DON'T give Santa the floor, some of them will hold it for 15 minutes without batting an eye. Do something like, tell us your name, where you live, and the one event you're looking forward to most this coming season (in 20 words or less). Other "getting to know you" questions we've used are favorite reindeer, favorite cookie, favorite ice cream... these short answers are good when you have a full agenda, but even with these there are some guys who will turn a 1-2 word answer into a 2-3 minute talk! Let's face it, we're a gabby bunch, in general. My 2¢, best of luck, guys.
  15. Santas, Mrs. Claus, Elves, and others in the Santa Realm: If you live near or around the Piedmont Triad area (Winston-Salem/Greensboro/High Point area, we are exploring forming a Santa professional development group similar to the Research Triangle's "Santa Buddies" group. We are having a lunch meeting this Saturday, August 24 at 12:30 at Sixty Six Pizzeria located at Highway 66 South in Kernersville. This will be a meet-and-greet to gauge the interest in forming such a group and exploring the topics local Santas would like to see presented. If you need more info, please feel free to email back at santa@triadsanta.com. Leonard Hutchens
