Acrobat, Santa, musician: A few fun facts about Utah's lawmakers

by Hallie Golden and Michelle Price, The Associated Press via The Washington Times | Posted: 03-09-2017

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH --- Utah's legislature has an interesting cast of characters including a former high-flying circus performer and a Santa Claus impersonator.

Lawmakers have spent a lot of their time debating serious societal issues during the session that ended earlier this morning, but several of them took the time to share some fun facts about their lives outside the Capitol.

Rep. Paul Ray devoted the majority of his teen years to performing on the high-wire and trapeze at a local circus.

Rep. Lee Perry plays Santa Claus for the local Wal-Mart in Perry every year.

And Rep. Jeremy Petersen of Ogden used to play in a college rock-n'-roll band called "The Attack Bobs."
