Easter Bunny appears at Santa's Village for holiday fun in San Bernardino Mountains

by Jim Steinberg, San Bernardino, California Sun | Posted: 04-16-2017, 7:07 PM PDT

EXCERPT:

LAKE ARROWHEAD, CALIFORNIA ---- Sunday saw a rare meeting of two childhood icons in the San Bernardino Mountains.

What do you think about seeing Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny together in the same venue?

"Confusing for some of the kids," admitted Christine Shepherd, from Running Springs, who brought her almost-4-year-old daughter to SkyPark at Santa's Village for the very first time.

The Christmas-oriented theme park re-opened December 2nd, 2016, after being closed down for some 18 years. Sunday's historic event marked the park's first-ever Easter Sunday session under its repostioning as a year-round entertainment venue, along with a name change from The Original Santa's Village to SkyPark at Santa's Village.

"Kinda bizarre," was 11-year-old Menifee resident Luis Montoya's take on the idea of "so much Christmas stuff" around in the presence of the Easter Bunny.

"Santa lives here. Where else is he supposed to go?" asked SkyPark spokesperson Deanna Beaudoin.

"The Easter Bunny is my good friend," said Santa, in a rare moment when he wasn't being visited by the children inside his amusement park abode. "And I only have to put with him for one day a year!"
